David Anderson retired from academic career in American literature, but continues to write for other people’s enjoyment. Anderson earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from BGSU, and then earned his doctorate from Michigan State University, where he was a professor for 33 years. In 1971, he founded the Society for the Study of Midwestern Literature and is its executive director. He is a recognized expert on author Sherwood Anderson. In 2009, he received the Ohioana Career Award and continues to serve on the literature nomination committee for the Nobel Prize Institute.
